My name is Colleen Schneider and I am Girl Scout from troop 4469 Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast who has strived to achieve the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award a Girl Scout may achieve.

What is the Gold Award?

Girl Scouts strive to make the world a better place, and the Gold Award is for those who dream of changing the world for the better. These girls take action on these dreams and prove that they can make a difference in the world and already have. The Gold Award is a project girls tackle on an issue dear to them to make lasting change in their community and beyond.

My Global Issue

The Global Issue that my project aims to help is one of technology. Technology has become a large part of our world, especially the younger generations. While technology has many beneficial aspects, it is also important to get away from technology and stimulate the brain in other ways, especially during critical developmental stages. So, my project aims to help prevent the addiction of technology in young children and help them to grow as future adults.

My Project

I created booklets to help children by stimulating their brains in other ways than electronics, and teach them something new at the same time. With these activities, parents and children can grow closer and learn more together!
